About Pat Bettencourt
Pat considers herself a real ‘townie’, as she has lived in Middleborough all of her life. She is a Graduate of Middleborough High School, where she has been working as a secretary for over 20 years. Not everyone can say they love their job, but she can. She is currently the Key Club Advisor at the High School, a member of Kiwanis club and a band leader for the Ladies Sodality. She has volunteered in many capacities, including as a Girl Scout leader, Softball coach, the PMC, at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, the All Are Welcome meals program. She was Past President of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 2188 and former Kiwanis Woman of the Year.

Pat has been married to her husband Fran for 42 years and they have two children Lynn who lives in Savannah, GA and Joseph who lives in Los Angeles, CA. She has one granddaughter, Emerson and is expecting another grandchild in early March. 


About Henry Bengt Burkland (1890 - 1971)
Henry was a teacher and a school principal until he retired from Middleborough in 1962. The school on Mayflower Avenue is named in his honor. He was a Veteran, and served during World War 1. He is buried at South Middleborough Cemetery.
